Wyoming Injury & Violence Prevention offering new program to help prevent falls

CASPER, Wyo. The Wyoming Injury & Violence Prevention Program is launching a new program aimed to help prevent falls among residents of the state, the Wyoming Department of Health announced Monday.
“Falls and fall-related injuries are the leading cause of unintentional injury-related hospitalizations and the third leading cause of unintentional deaths in our state,” said WDH Injury Prevention Coordinator Jeff Grant.
One in three older adults experience a fall each year across the country. The National Council on Aging data shows that an older adult requires emergency medical services every 14 seconds due to a fall-related injury. ....
