Bottles were smashed around the playground at Cockenzie Primary School, while damage was also caused to property. Police said incidents of anti-social behaviour and vandalism were taking place on “a nightly basis”. A garden area, which is maintained by the children, has also been destroyed. Police Sergeant Wardell, community sergeant for Musselburgh, Prestonpans and Tranent, said: “This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and as such officers, along with our colleagues in the council’s anti-social behaviour team, will be carrying out patrols of the area and anyone found to be responsible for these crimes will be dealt with accordingly.”
