Date Time Appointment of Commissioners of Criminal Cases Review Commission Zahra Ahmed, Nicola Cockburn and Joanne Fazakerley have been appointed as Commissioners of the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) for 3 years from 1 June 2021. The CCRC is an independent body, set up by the Criminal Appeal Act 1995, to investigate possible miscarriages of justice in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The CCRC decides if there is any new evidence or new argument which raises a real possibility that an appeal court would quash a conviction or reduce a sentence. Appointments to the CCRC are regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments and comply with the Governance Code on Public Appointments. ....

FuelWatch advises that on Wednesday 5 May 2021, most branded retailers are hiking their ULP price: Caltex Woolworths, Caltex and Coles Express hiking by 42-44 cpl to 169.9 cpl; BP to 168.9 cpl; Ampol and 7-Eleven to 167.9 cpl; Puma to 167.7 cpl; and Vibe to 159.9 cpl. Perth’s weekly petrol price cycle results in prices, on average, being cheapest on Monday and Tuesday and at their most expensive on Wednesday and Thursday – that’s why FuelWatch recommends filling up today. ....

Date Time Police seek help to find missing person at Libby Skye Shannon Mandurah Police are seeking information regarding the whereabouts of missing 15-year-old girl Libby Skye SHANNON, who was last seen at the Cockburn Train Station on Sunday 28 February 2021. Libby has not had contact with her family since Thursday 18 February 2021, and was reported missing the following week. Concerns are held for her welfare as she has not been away from family for this period of time before. Libby is described as fair skinned, of medium build, with dark hair. It is believed Libby may be in the Mandurah to Fremantle area. ....
Date Time Fremantle to Murdoch transit link on Infrastructure Australia priority list The need to improve transport connections between Fremantle and Murdoch has been identified as a project of national significance in Infrastructure Australia’s latest priority list. The Fremantle to Murdoch transport capacity project has been included as a ‘Priority Initiative’ in the Infrastructure Australia 2021 priority list released today. A rapid transit network connecting Fremantle with neighbouring urban centres was included as a key element in the City of Fremantle’s Freo 2029: Transformational Moves strategy, and the City has been advocating for a light rail or trackless tram connection between Fremantle and Murdoch as part of its membership of the South West Group of Councils. ....
