More rainfall was forecast for the weekend after several days of storms across the Phoenix area.
Friday started with heavy rainfall across portions of the East Valley, north Phoenix, Scottsdale and higher terrain areas of Maricopa and Gila counties, the National Weather Service said Friday. About 60% of metro Phoenix received measurable rainfall.
Moving into Saturday and Sunday, the low pressure system will bring abundant monsoon moisture and likely thunderstorms, according to the weather service.
