A civic group, the Coalition of Civil Society Network (CCSN) has written to Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, about the alleged extortion of some Nigerians, particularly job seekers, by some officials of the National Task Force (NATFORCE). In the letter dated December 9, 2022, and signed by its Deputy Coordinator, James Alfa, the coalition said it had in recent times received disturbing complaints from innocent Nigerians about the extortion carried out by officials of the National Task Force.
A civil society group under the aegis of the Coalition of Civil Society Network (CCSN) has rejected the appointment of Magaji Tambuwal, as the acting Clerk to the National Assembly. The National Assembly Service Commission had appointed Tambuwal to act as a substantial Clerk to the National Assembly following the directive by the Kadi Amshi-led Commission that the former Clerk, Amos Olatunde Ojo should proceed on three months pre-retirement leave on November 14, 2022. However, Tambuwal’s appointment has been criticised by many analysts, groups and individuals.
The Coalition of Civil Society Network has condemned the Minister of Special Duties, George Akume, for granting some undeserved individuals national honours and awards. The group made this known in a statement released by the union press director, Abdullahi Ibrahim, following the conferring of the rank of Commander of the Order of the Niger(CON) on one Chief Chide Anyaegbu. The coalition, therefore, urged President Muhammed Buhari to investigate the personalities of the people honoured so far by the Ministry of Special Duties.
