The Alliance membership will be capped at nine participating groups.
On Dec. 10, the Alliance held its organizational meeting via online conference.
The initial meeting dealt with organizational issues.
The representatives from the participating organizations voted Martin Leibas, of Lorain, representing CHIP, as chairman.
Ardelia (Dee) Tolbert, president of Elyria NAACP, was voted Alliance vice chairwoman.
Leibas thanked everyone for their participation, and the commissioners for starting the Alliance. I think it s well needed in this area; it s been well needed in this area for a long time coming, he said. I really appreciate the push at putting this forward.
