points, take a page out of the kamala harris playbook, and similarly go after joe biden? i think we can all count on fireworks, that s for sure, we can definitely count on. we also have new polling out from quinnipiac. we re looking at the key voting state of ohio here, joe biden doing pretty well, the support of 31% of democrats and democratic leaning voters. senator harris coming in at 14%. buttigieg at 6%. when you look at these numbers. ohio as we know, is key for many reasons, does this tell us anything about the strength of the biden campaign at the moment? i think it tells you that he is a strong candidate? it also tells you they re sort of coalessing around the top four or five candidates. even though there s a field of candidates. a lot of voters have sort of settled on this top tier of candidates, with biden ahead in most of the polls we ve seen so
face in a day-to-day news cycle. what else is fuelling mayor pete? well, you know, he s a guy who s comfortable in his own skin, isn t he? he doesn t seem to have a focus group formula to run the campaign, and i think people find that refreshing. i think he s very much of a fresh face and he s pitch perfect, you re right. i can t help but think about two things happening, you have a coalessing around the four front runners but you re seeing a fracturing on the democratic field where they are taking the knives out and making more pointed attacks than i think a lot of democratic leaders were hoping the candidates would take. joe biden is still the front runner but not dominant. the fact is over the last week i think he showed some vulnerability by flip flopping on the hollywoyde amendment. and you re seeing them
being real, but, you know, there was a kind of focused effort that the tea party had that really ended up coalessing around a single issue, right? obama care. this seems much more at least in the early days, much more diffuse. a lot of different issues and a lot of different things and anxiety, but, you know, does that really end up in 201 in the elections becoming a powerful force that is focused in places that can really matter, or does it end up being in dave brat s district maybe a solid for him and not going to like you said, tbd. for democrats they have a party that is disparate. they have to figure out how to get all these people with all these different pet issues and backgrounds to coalesce around something and go into a midterm when democrats are usually disadvantaged and do do something for them. that s really hard. bottling it up and deploying it in the right places. going after marcia blackburn or dave brat, might have them come back for nerves. it s very hard to
