Matt Rambo, the league s MVP in 2019, is confident in his Whipsnakes heading into this weekend s game against the Cannons.
On December 6, 1963, American Football league commissioner Joe Foss wrote a letter to National Football League Commissioner Pete Rozelle issuing a challenge: the winner of the AFL playoffs against the winner of the NFL playoffs in an annual championship game.
Rozelle initially rebuffed the invitation, but in July 1966, an agreement was finally made between Rozelle and Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt to merge the two leagues and hold a championship game between the AFL and NFL what we now know as the Super Bowl.

Sean Quirk believes you become what you surround yourself with.
If that’s the case, then the Cannons Lacrosse Club will become a blend of veteran leaders who are some of the most recognizable names in the game, arguably the world’s best player and a nucleus of young talent that made waves last summer. That balance is by design.
“I love where we are with the roster and what we’ve built up to this point,” Quirk said.

The traditions of the Boston Cannons continue in Premier Lacrosse League, as the team announced that Sean Quirk will be the head coach of Cannons LC.
Quirk has been a part of the Cannons since 2015 and coached the team to the Major League Lacrosse championship in 2020. I am extremely excited and fortunate to be leading the Cannons Lacrosse Club,” he said in a news release. “With the rich tradition of the Cannons and fan base, we as a team look forward to building a championship caliber culture and team in the PLL. The merger of the MLL and PLL is very positive for our sport and the growth of professional lacrosse. This is an opportunity for the best players in the world to come together and display the highest level of lacrosse.”
