Osaka University to Start Operation of NEC s Cloud-linked Supercomputer System TOKYO, Dec 14, 2020 - (JCN Newswire) - The Cybermedia Center, Osaka University, in cooperation with NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701), announced today it will introduce a new cloud-linked High Performance Computing (HPC) and High Performance Data Analysis (HPDA) supercomputer system from NEC. This will replace the existing system provided by NEC, and is scheduled to commence operation in May 2021. Cloud hosting provider Netgain struck by ransomware attack SHARE Cloud hosting and information technology services provider Netgain Technology Inc. has been struck by a ransomware attack that has forced the company to take some of its data centers offline. According to Bleeping Computer Wednesday, the ransomware attack was first reported by Netgain to its customers on Nov. 24. An email Dec. 4 warned customers of “system outages or slowdowns” from an ongoing cyberattack targeting the hosting provider.
