(Bloomberg) Global cases of the coronavirus topped 150 million, with India remaining at the epicenter of the pandemic after reporting record new infections and deaths on Thursday. Brazil’s fatalities exceeded 400,000 as the country recorded more Covid-19 deaths in the first four months of the year than in all of 2020.
Singapore’s daily community infections climbed to the highest in more than nine months, while Tokyo reported more than 1,000 daily cases for the first time in about three months.
New York City is moving to fully reopen on July 1. France will ease virus restrictions in four stages starting on May 3 and ending June 30, while Ireland plans to start reopening after a four-month lockdown.
