report. it goes to show that the louisville police department has been practicing and abusing the black community in that city for many, many years. according to the justice department, they ve known for years that the police department was targeting african americans for for pretextual police stops, trying to figure out ways to get them to pull over, and then finding additional cars that they could look into. they renamed a crime unit called the viper unit, but continued doing the same things. the city itself looked into some of the practices of the police department targeting african americans, and nothing changed after doing that. here is attorney general merrick garland describing some of the findings. some officers have demonstrated disrespect for the people they are sworn to protect. some have videotaped themselves throwing drinks at pedestrians from their cars, assaulted people with disabilities, and called black people, monkeys, animal, and boy. this conduct ....

They re certainly going to hear about that in this case. you expect a lot of families they ll hear from are ones that say put him to death. sure. there s a lot of dynamics adds imposed on somebody. first of all, we think of it as an afterthought that he s going to die in prison. whether five years or 50 years from now, he ll die in prison. the question becomes, how do we mete out proper punishment under our code? if anyone deserves death penalty, someone who s killed and tried to kill hundreds would deserve it. those that do death penalty work know of studies that suggest even those families that want death penalty imposed and get it closure doesn t come from that. closure comes in cases of a lost ....
