Manager wishes
It is with great regret that I write to inform the people of Andover of the death on February 7 of Yvonne Bradbury, the Manager of the Andover Crisis and Support Centre, following a short illness.
Yvonne had been the Manager of the Centre for over 30 years.
During that time the Centre had developed and made a positive contribution to the lives of hundreds of clients in one way or another.
Due to her illness the Centre has not been able to thank all the Individuals, Organisations, Companies and Churches who gave so generously at Christmas.
May I please add the thanks of the Staff and Management Committee for the continuing support that the Centre receives. It could not function as it does without your help. ....

Andover Town Council moments that rival Handforth Parish Council

A dramatic council meeting where the clerk ejected the chair and vice-chair has gone viral.
But no, it isn t Andover Town Council that has been making headlines this week but Handforth Parish Council in Cheshire.
Footage of their planning meeting held on Zoom on December 10 has gone viral with thousands of viewers stunned by dramatic arguments.
In the video, Jackie Weaver sent the chairman to the waiting room after saying she had no authority and declaring himself the town clerk. He was followed in short order by the deputy chairman, who shouted: Read the standing orders - read them and understand them! ....

TVBC rejects referendum on moving Andover war memorial

Veterans have raised “grave concerns” over a proposal to hold a referendum on moving Andover’s war memorial.
Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) was debating a motion by Cllrs Christopher Ecclestone and David Coole to hold a consultation on the resiting of the memorial, with the aim of holding a referendum on the move in 2021.
Cllr Ecclestone said that the proposal would “would finally, once and for all, settle this issue of where the war memorial is sited.”
However, others disagreed with the plans, saying that they had been brought with “contempt” and had no information on the costs or impacts such a move would have on the listed monument. ....
