Plans for renewal of Enniskerry village

Part 8 consultation is under way Town & Village Renewal Scheme in Enniskerry for public realm works, including pedestrian accessibility, development of a community garden and remedial works to the Town Clock. Funding has been approved and there is match funding available from the council s own resources and the community to facilitate the project. The Bray district has been working closely with the local community and businesses on the project. A Part 8 application has been prepared which sets out the works and will go out to public consultation. The proposed works include closure of the south side of the Town Clock to vehicle traffic except for emergency access controlled by demountable bollards.

Open debate requested before Dáil votes on ratification of CETA deal

Members of Bray Municipal District voted last week to ask the Oireachtas to have a full open and democratic debate before the Dáil votes on CETA ratification. Cllr Joe Behan proposed a suspension of standing orders to discuss the matter, with support from Cllr Rory O Connor. CETA is a trade deal between Canada and the EU. I have only in recent days become aware of the potential problems caused for the people of this country if it is fully ratified by the Government, said Cllr Joe Behan. We have all been contacted by people from our town and county who have environmental concerns, workers rights concerns, agriculture concerns and legal concerns about the implications of CETA, he said.
