A local conservation charity is campaigning to bring a scout hut back into action.
The now derelict prefab sits on privately owned land by a section of railway in Crofton Park that once formed part of the Great North Wood.
The first hut for scouts on the site was built nearly 100 years ago but the current one has been left in disrepair since the land owner bought it and the scouts had to leave.
The land was covered in debris before the council served the developer with a S215 notice to clean it up in December.   ....

Sydenham Hill Estate: Date set for Judicial Review | This Is Local London

As per an agreement with the council, half of the homes will be let to Lewisham residents.
Residents spoke against the scheme at the planning meeting, concerned about density, pressure on amenities, disabled access, lack of proper consultation, and the impact the development would have on Grade II listed Lammas Green and the conservation area.
Mature trees are also set to be cut down if the development goes ahead.
But planning officers and committee members felt “on balance” the need for social housing was too important.

A former pub in Lewisham is set to house rough sleepers in Lewisham from next week.
Lewisham Council successfully made a bid for funding to the Greater London Authority (GLA) through the Rough Sleeper Accommodation Programme (RSAP) to go towards buying the Sydney Arms.
London councils were invited to bid for capital funding from the RSAP to help with purchasing and developing buildings into longer term move-on accommodation for rough sleepers.
The council officially bought the building in January 2021 with the hopes of reducing temporary accommodation costs.
The pub in Lewisham Road has already been converted into 16 flats.  ....
