There is no plan to avoid Nelson Mandela Bay's Day Zero

Nelson Mandela Bay is running out of water and when Day Zero arrives for large parts of the city by the end of this month, the Metro will enter into infamy as it becomes one of the first metropolitan areas in the world to run out of water. Oblivious to the fast-approaching crisis due to an ineffective public awareness campaign by the municipality, residents use 299 Ml of water a day, whilst demand should long have been reduced to 230-250 Ml a day. ....

Immediate action needed after NMB municipality possibly puts residents' health at risk with tainted water supply

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has written to Nelson Mandela Bay Executive Mayor, Cllr Eugene Johnson, to express our concerns after the municipality finally admitted that the Metro’s water supply is not safe for human consumption.
