Council's defibrillator plans on hold

Plans to provide six defibrillators in Maryport have hit a snag.
The town council ‘s finance committee agreed on Monday that further investigation was needed first because of cost, the need to be available at all times and reports of vandalism elsewhere.
The council had proposed to install defibrillators at the sea Cadet headquarters in King Street, the Crown Inn and Dales Nursing Home, both in Ellenborough. One Stop, Netherton. Castle & Coats Office, Hillside and the shop/Post Office on Church Terrace.
Finance chairman Carol Tindall said she would also like on on the railway station at Flimby.
However, Cllr Christine Slater expressed some concern: “These cost between £1,000 and £2,000, not including VAT. ....
