to be fair, you mentioned it, $550 billion, more than half a trillion dollars to climate measures. does a framework commitment to that though not a signed deal, signed legislation with the letter of the law, is that enough to convince world leaders that the u.s. can meet its commitments at this summit? i think that s a big question that is facing these world leaders. we ll see what they have to say about it when they re at this international climate conve conference. the white house wanted to say this is the standard the united states is setting and we want other nations to follow suit because they have wanted other nations to not just move in that direction, but move more aggressively and faster in that direction. the question whether or not it is something that is clear remains to be seen because it is an issue that we saw on a domestic level in the united states. the president was often on the road talking about this ....

He s leaving washington? and what these negotiations look like over the next several days. so it is a risk, it is a bet on the president s behalf and we don t yet know how it will play out. susan, top of the agenda here in rome for g-20 is the climate. leaders will leave here and go to scotland for the u.n. climate summit known as cop26, joined by some 200 other world leaders. part of the president s framework agenda is an investment in clean energy, climate provisions in the u.s. amounting to almost just above half a trillion dollars. is that commitment enough to please and convince, i should say, u.s. allies that he is committed to climate measures? well, look, the backdrop here is deep ongoing uncertainty which deal is not going to resolve. deep uncertainty about whether the united states actually has a commitment in to go forward ....
