backups. we ll check on that in a couple minutes. frightening moments for people in alaska this morning after a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit just off the coast of kodiak. the quake triggered a tsunami warning for the entire west coast. there was a warning for alaska, canada, and then we had that watch in effect for washington, oregon, and california. authorities in the bay area were taking no chances. abc 7 news reporter tiffany wilson is live in santa cruz with the preparations. tiffany? reporter: good morning, jessica. we ve moved to the upper harbor. this is an area that was just destroyed by the 2011 tsunami, and here i want you to take a look behind me. there s hardly a ripple. this morning we have not seen any major waves but it was a very tense morning for folks who live onboard boats in the harbor. the harbor master went around boat to boat giving warnings there could be a tsunami coming and that they should be prepared. today the national weather service says tha
