The city moves to yellow-protect Tuesday, which allows various facilities to re-open with public health and workplace safety measures in place.

A number of city facilities and services will be closed on Monday to recognize Family Day.
Closed city operations include: cemetery office, Civic Centre, GFL Memorial Gardens and GFL Memorial Gardens box office and the Transit office.

All branches of the public library and seniors’centres will be closed.
The city’s landfill site will also be closed Monday along with the public works and engineering office. For 24-hour emergency service, call 705-759-5201.
The Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+ and the Northern Community Centre will also remain closed. ....

Art Jennings Speed Skating Oval and Clergue Park Skating Trail are open, but Mother Nature needs to cooperate a little more before three city-operated skating rinks will host hockey games.
Director of community services Brent Lamming is hopeful the Esposito, Merrifield and Anna McCrea sites will start welcoming the public in the next few days.

While the oval and trail have “more of a constant flow of traffic” the boarded rinks feature “a lot of stop and go” that’s more demanding on ice. As a result, city crews want “a little bit more hardier” ice with “a bit of a thicker base” at those sites, said Lamming on Wednesday. ....
