After offering an entertainment service based on full-fibre broadband and claiming to have set gigabit benchmarks, London-based broadband provider Community Fibre has announced that it has enabled connectivity for 200,000 London homes, a figure that has doubled in just a year.
The company said this represented an annual increase of 130% in its customer base and added that the milestone reinforced its commitment to facilitate a better internet for all London communities, aiming to connect one million London properties by the end of 2023 with what it claims is affordable, faster, more reliable broadband. ....

Woodberry Down mother speaks about mice infestation and damp

A Hackney mother feels little has been done to fix ongoing housing issues which have seen her, and her young son, living with a mice infestation, mould and damp. 
The resident and child, who preferred not to be named, live on Woodberry Down estate and are one of more than 3,000 families living in temporary accommodation in the borough. 
The woman s social worker has requested that the family be rehoused urgently, particularly as her young child suffers from a condition called cold urticaria which results in itchy welts or hives on skin exposed to the cold. ....

Hackney tenant 'terrified' over four-year broken front door

A council tenant who was left terrified with a broken front door for four years has agreed an out-of-court settlement with Hackney borough.
In the four years that Troy Goldie fought to get Hackney Council to repair his door, he said there were four stabbings near his home on the Regent Estate. 
Scared about security while his front door could be easily forced open, the 27-year-old became suicidal and was terrified for his life .
Troy already suffers from a personality disorder, paranoid schizophrenia and depression.
Troy Goldie reached an out-of-court settlement with Hackney Council. ....
