Vigil held for Detroit mother found shot to death inside burning home By FOX 2 Staff Family of murder victim Cassandra Morrow gather for vigil It has been nearly a week since a Detroit mother was shot to death and her house set on fire with her little boy inside. The child is in critical condition and there have been no arrests made in the case. On Monday night family and friends held a vigil to remember 36-year-old  Cassandra Morrow and pray for the recovery of her son. The tragedy happened in the 7400 block of Clayburn Street on the city s west side. An officer saw smoke from the fire on the freeway and reported it. She raced to the scene and saw the fire was already blazing. When fire crews arrived and they put it out they found the woman and child inside.

The incident happened nearly a week ago on Clayburn Street on Detroit’s west side. Cassandra Morrow, 36, had been shot and her home was set on fire to cover up the crime. Her son is still in a fight for his life at Children’s Hospital. “My sister was a beautiful person. She had her own business. She loved her baby. That was the only baby she had. He was her world,” said Morrow’s sister, Shirley Morrow. “I can’t believe she’s gone.”
