Spectators Not Allowed at Olympics, North Texas Athlete Looking at the Positives


Fans will be banned from stadiums and arenas in the Tokyo area when the Olympic Games begin after Japan’s prime minister declared a state of emergency through Aug. 8. It’s disappointing news for some North Texas fans who planned on traveling to Tokyo to support Team USA.
Scott, 31, is from DFW and attended Dallas Jesuit. He s been training at the Academy of Classical Karate since he was 8-years old and is currently a karate instructor at St. Mark s Catholic School in Plano.
This is the first Olympics to debut karate.
Scott said having a crowd can be energizing, but there also may be a benefit from having no fans in the stands. ....
