Toro Toro Replaces Quattro, Back Table Replaces Robard's

Toro Toro, 1300 Lamar, will open at the Four Seasons Hotel Houston in fall 2021. This will be the sixth location for the concept. The hotel has partnered with Richard Sandoval Hospitality to bring his award-winning global Pan-Latin Steakhouse to Houston. It will open in the hotel’s revamped third floor restaurant space, replacing Quattro, the now-closed Italian restaurant known for its spectacular brunches..
Toro Toro is a combination of the Japanese word for tuna and the Spanish word for bull, representing a menu that will feature seafood and steaks. With vibrant Pan-Latin flavors from Rodizio-style Churrasco and creative shareable small plates, the new restaurant will also take inspiration from the convivial dining culture of Central and South America. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen with a wood-burning grill with meats presented and carved tableside. There will be family-style ceviche, ....

Houston Gardens Come Alive | Houston Press

The month of April is nearly over. After the devastating freeze in February, Houston has seen even more unusual weather with cooler-than-normal temperatures and a mix of wind, storms and dry spells through the past two months. However, a look around the Bayou City s neighborhoods shows the resiliency of nature as roses burst into bloom, refreshed by the dormancy that Houston weather rarely allows. We missed out on our annual azalea show but the wildflowers were happy this year. And the Sago Palms around town are coming back in phallic glory.
This past weekend was spectacular weather-wise with bountiful sunshine and low humidity. It s days like these that make Houstonians forget the sweltering months to come. And our gardens are loving the weather as well. It s tempting to sit back on a restaurant patio sipping a margarita or lounge lazily in the backyard with an iced tea but our plant pals need a little attention as the month of May begins. A few hours spent laying down some m ....

Space Cowboy, 100 W. Cavalcade, will have its grand opening April 23. This is the first concept from Night Moves Hospitality to open in 2021, as we reported here in the
Houston Press. There are at least three more ventures planned by the newly formed hospitality group for this year with Trash Can Panda Drinking Club up next.
The tropically-inspired bar and restaurant comes from owner and beverage director Greg Perez and chef partner Lyle Bento. It is located in the Heights House Hotel, which was formerly the Astro Inn. In keeping with the retro vibe of the hotel, Space Cowboy is a colorful and quirky cocktail bar with a 2,000 square foot patio and a green space that is adjacent to the hotel s pool for an even more island feel. ....
