The new academic session 2021-22 for Classes 9 and 11 of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will begin from April 1, announced the CBSE board. On Friday, the CBSE board released guidelines for schools to start the new academic session and conduct examinations for Classes 9 and 11.
In the notice, the CBSE board said, For Classes 9 and 11, it would be appropriate for schools to start the academic session 2021-2022 from April 1, 2021, to the extent feasible subject to the instructions of the state government.
The examinations of CBSE Classes 9 and 11 will be conducted by maintaining Covid-19 safety protocols. The board further stated, Schools should take steps to identify and remedy the learning gaps for Classes 9 and 11 and thereafter, conduct examinations by strictly following Covid-19 safety protocols as per examination bye-laws. Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], February 1 (ANI): Schools reopened for 9th and 11th standard students in Gujarat on Monday, months after they were closed in wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier, the Gujarat government opened the schools for Classes 10 and 12 on January 11.
Students were seen walking the corridors with their classmates while the management of the schools were complying all the COVID-19 protocols including the sanitisation of the premises, thermal scanners, disinfectants, masks.
Students were seen maintaining social distancing norms and wearing masks.
Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama had on Wednesday announced the reopening of schools in the state for classes 9 and 11 from today. ....

Govt. releases reduced syllabus for Class 9


There has been no deletion of entire chapters in most subjects for Class 9
The reduced syllabus for Class 9 at State board schools was released by the School Education Department on Monday.
Before the schools reopened last week for Classes 10 and 12, the syllabus was released with a nearly 40% reduction.
As in the case of the senior classes, there has been no deletion of entire chapters in most subjects for Class 9. Teachers said the exercise was done with the concepts required for Class 10 in mind.
“In English and Tamil, the grammar part has been retained since it will be useful for the students. The reduction has been done in a few prose and poem sections,” said M.H. Sharmila, principal, Everwin School. ....
