CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Clarksville Tree Board and Clarksville Parks & Recreation’s Forestry Division will host the annual Arbor Day Celebration this week by giving away 1,100 bare-root tree seedlings.
The drive-through event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Smith-Trahern Mansion, 101 McClure St.
The Montgomery County Master Gardeners will be on-site to assist in the distribution. For safety, participants are asked to remain in their vehicles. Volunteers will approach each vehicle to obtain the tree order. Seedlings are limited to five per person.
“As trees grow, they help stop climate change,” said Kathrine Killebrew, city forester of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department. “Trees provide many benefits to us every day. We encourage all citizens to be a positive part of a great change. ”
