Police: 70-year-old man drowns on Pearl River in Rankin County following boating accident

A man is dead after police say he fell out of a boat and drowned on the Upper Pearl River Tuesday.
Reservoir Police Chief Trevell Dixon said the department was called to the scene south of the Coal Bluff Campground and Park at around 12:30 p.m. after Alvin Lowe, 70, of Walnut Grove, was reported missing.

LeFleur s Bluff State Park is located on the banks of the Pearl River. The park is named after French-Canadian explorer Louis LeFleur. LeFleur established a trading post on the banks of the Pearl River in the late 1700s. ....
