Ms. Margaret Cecile “Peggy” Parrish a noted author of the children’s book series and fictional character, “Amelia Bedelia” is joined in company by another Clarendon County resident.  The Clarendon County Public Library in Manning, SC has a statue of the fictional character she created in front of the library.  Not surprisingly, the pool of talented people here in Clarendon County is unmatched in number with our neighbors in Sumter and Williamsburg counties.  Another noted children’s book author has established her craft in beautiful Clarendon County. 
Born and raised in Manning South Carolina, Ms. Takelia Hammett is a published author of Children’s books.  Takelia is a 2008 graduate of Manning H.S. Graduate of Allen University in Columbia with her degree in English.  As well as she received her Masters of Art Degree in English and Creative Writing from New Hampshire University.   ....
