Jacksonville officials will open a COVID-19 vaccination site in the city’s Northside for just two days Friday and Saturday to administer shots to 975 people, Mayor Lenny Curry said Thursday. The pop-up vaccination site at the Clanzel Brown Senior Center, 4575 Moncrief Road, will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day for people 65 or older, frontline medical personnel and first responders. “If and when more vaccines become available, we will be ready to open additional sites in other areas of the community,” Curry said. Unlike other vaccination sites, no appointments will be scheduled, but Curry said some seniors can be given vouchers to return later in the day to minimize the time spent waiting in long lines. ....
