More than 40,000 fully vaccinated against Covid in Colchester | Maldon and Burnham Standard

The latest NHS data shows 43,652 people in Colchester had received both jabs by May 2.
Of those to have received both jabs, 35,874 were aged 45 and over - 45 per cent of the age group.
It means 7,778 people aged between 16 to 44 have received both doses.
In Tendring, more than a third of people have had both doses.
Figures show 45,266 people had received both jabs.
A total of 41,005 were 45 and over - 49 per cent of the age group.
It means 4,261 people aged between 16 to 44 have received both doses.
Nick Hulme, chief executive of the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Trust, which runs Colchester Hospital, said: “A massive thank you to all staff and volunteers who have supported our vaccination hubs over the past four months.” ....

Around one in nine people across Tendring suffer from depression – and figures reveal how rates vary across the area.
Charity Mind said England is facing a mental health pandemic and called for a stronger Government approach to tackle the widening inequalities in care.
Analysis of NHS estimates by the House of Commons Library shows 11.2% of adult GP patients across Tendring had a diagnosis of depression in 2019-20.
This was a similar rate to the 11.5% average across England.
But of Tendring s 18 areas, it was highest in Elmstead Market and Ardleigh where 14.4% were depressed. ....

More than a quarter of of people in Tendring fully vaccinated against Covid-19
More than a quarter of people aged 45 and over in Tendring have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal.
NHS data shows 34,639 people had received both jabs by April 25 – 28% of those aged 16 and over, based on the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
Of those to have received both jabs, 31,085 were aged 45 and over – 37% of the age group.
It means 3,554 people aged between 16 and 44 have received both doses.
The figures also show 90,817 people in Tendring have received at least one jab – 74% of those aged 16 and over. ....
