Several Sask. Health Authority Facilities and Long-Term Care Homes Moving to Level 3 Family Presence

A number of Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities and long-term care homes are moving to Level 3 family presence, effective today (Thurs).
“Level 3 Family Presence means that two family/support members can be present at the same time for end-of-life care only.” the Health Authority said in a news release. “One essential family/support person can be designated to assist with care if needed (self-care, mobility, nutrition and behavioural needs). Additional family presence can be supported for the specific circumstances, including critical care, intensive care, maternal, postpartum or pediatric units. ”
No other visitors are allowed, until the SHA deem it safe to return to the previous level. ....

Local Sask. Organizations Receiving Over $161-Thousand in Charitable Gaming Grants

Groups and organizations in Saskatchewan that raise funds through charitable gaming activities, are receiving about 1.1 million dollars in charitable gaming grants.
During the most recent quarter, the Yorkton and surrounding area received over 161-thousand dollars.
Among them, the Lions Club of Esterhazy gets more than 27-thousand dollars, more than 54-thousand dollars going to the Foam Lake Recreation Centre, and the Legion in Melville is getting just over 4-thousand dollars.
The charitable gaming grant program supports groups and organizations that conduct charitable gaming, including licenced bingos, raffles, break-open tickets, Texas Hold’em poker, and Monte Carlo events. ....

Missing Snowmobiler in Manitoba Found Deceased

The body of a missing Easterville man has been found.
27-year-old Walter Thomas went missing Monday night, after leaving a remote cabin on Thompson Island on Lake Winnipegosis.
Yesterday afternoon (Wed), search and rescue located a damaged snowmobile north of the Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, that was determined to be the one Thomas left on.
A short time later, Thomas’s body was located, and it is believed that he died from exposure. ....
