Mayor Walter Streelasky explained public works has the most people and are the most active in the community, compared to other departments. In his report to Melville City Council, Director of Community Services Chris Bruce says the lone challenge is market volatility when it comes to acquiring supplies. In response, Bruce says the building and pool contractors have been ordering everything as early as possible, adding major components like the water slide, pool liners and mechanical systems are being shipped. This project will replace the old pool that was built in 1967. ....

The 29 year old skip beat Kevin Koe’s Wild Card Two team 4-2 in the final of the Canadian men’s curling championship winning yesterday (Sun) in Calgary. Bottcher had lost the last three times in the final, including a loss to Koe in 2019. Meanwhile, Saskatchewan’s Matt Dunstone out of the Wadena Re/Max curling cup got their 2nd straight Bronze medal after falling 6-5 in the Semi-Final to Bottcher earlier in the day. ....
