Mirroring a similar program at Disney s California Adventure theme park, Universal Studios Hollywood has started allowing patrons to partake of dining and shopping at the home of The Simpsons, Harry Potter and the Despicable Me Minions.
The park, which remains closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, began offering a Taste of Universal, on Friday, giving visitors weekend access to select areas of the theme park to shop and eat. Capacity will be limited, guest temperatures will be checked and mask-wearing and social-distancing rules will be enforced. Universal Studios Hollywood to reopen with outdoor dining, shopping experience

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Theme park enthusiasts will officially be able to get a taste of Universal Studios Hollywood when it takes its first step toward reopening with an outdoor dining and shopping experience beginning March 12. Taste of Universal will be held within certain sections of the park on weekends from noon to 7 p.m. with coronavirus safety guidelines in place including limited capacity, physical distancing, and required face coverings.

Springfield, U.S.A.: Home of The Simpsons featuring Krusty Burger, Suds McDuff’s Hot Dog House, the Lard Lad Donut Cart and Kwik-E-Mart.
Universal Studios Hollywood will reopen to the public with a new outdoor dining and shopping experience on Friday, March 12.
The Taste of Universal, announced this week, will allow visitors back into Universal Studios, under new COVID-19 protocol, to enjoy their favorite food from the park, according to a press release shared with
Travel+ Leisure on Thursday.
Although rides and shows will not be operating, visitors will be able to walk around their favorite areas of the park, enter stores, take pictures with characters and eat some of the park s best dishes that they may be missing after its prolonged closure.
