By Jim Measel Jul 19, 2021 | 8:16 PM COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â The Coldwater Planning Commission approved a special land use permit for the proposed Joyology recreational marijuana retail establishment at 365 North Willowbrook Road on Monday evening but the owner of another proposed marijuana business in the same complex is not happy. Omar Fakhouri is a co-owner of Green Bronco, LLC which had their special land use permit approved by the Planning Commission last December. He said in an e-mail addressed to City Planner Dean Walrack that he was concerned about the impact of having multiple retail dispensaries in the same plaza sharing one parking lot. ....
By Jim Measel May 24, 2021 | 6:03 PM COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â This will be the second year grants from a M.S.H.D.A. Neighborhood Enhancement Program will be available to eligible homeowners in the City of Coldwater. The program is designed to provide direct benefit to homeowners in targeted neighborhoods. Eligible homeowners can use the grant funds to do work on sidings, roofs, windows, doors, driveways or sidewalks. City Manager Keith Baker said during Mondayâs City Council meeting the grants will be available this year to residents of the First Ward in an area bound by East Pearl, South Sprague, Division and Park Avenue. ....
ZBA backs Walrack on two of three Preston Street interpretations By Jim Measel May 19, 2021 | 6:20 PM COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) â The Coldwater Board of Zoning Appeals backed City Planner Dean Walrackâs interpretations on Wednesday to two out of three zoning ordinance violations concerning the property at 86 Preston Street. Petitioner Roger Dubois requested the interpretations after he was cited on March 11 for improper parking of a motor vehicle on residential property, the parking of semi-tractor trailers within a residential neighborhood and storing industrial materials and equipment within a property zoned A-1 One-Family Residential District. Walrack was backed by the Z.B.A. on a motorized industrial crane that had no license plate which he felt was parked in violation of the cityâs Zoning Ordinance. The ordinance requires vehicles on residential zoned property to be parked on an improved surface consisting of a parking strip, parking bay, ....
