Angeles City allows dine-in restaurants at 30% capacity


THE Angeles City Government has allowed dine-in restaurants at 30-percent operating capacity.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. released a memorandum on April 8, allowing dine-in customers in all food establishments in the city at a maximum capacity of 30 percent starting April 12.
The same memorandum stated that starting April 16, restaurants will be allowed to operate at 50-percent capacity subject to random inspection from the Business Permit and Licensing Division to ensure compliance with public health protocols.
These health protocols include wearing face masks and face shields upon entering the establishment, undergoing temperature checks, and filling out contact tracing forms.
Lazatin earlier prohibited dine-in restaurants as he adopted Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda’s Executive Order No. 5, which aimed to curb the growing number of Covid-19 cases in the province. ....

EVEN poor countries like Bangladesh have railway systems. Us, none. There was before but presidents after presidents kept dropping the ball. The Bicolanos had the Bicol express. The seniors will remember. From Tutuban in Manila people can take the train up to Damortis in La Union. It made several stops. In Malolos, San Fernando and then in Angeles. And from Angeles, my parents and me in tow will take us to its last stop in Damortis. From there a Baguio Auto Lines (BAL) bus will snake into the Kennon road. Baguio City deserved then its monicker: The City of Pines or The Summer Capital of the Philippines. Sad to say, it is no longer the city of pines. Over the years, it was bastardized. Failures of past leaders. ....
