Lynn Haven in Bay County Florida boost city manager salary by $25K


LYNN HAVEN One commissioner s performance evaluation of Lynn Haven s city manager landed her on the judgment block during a recent meeting.
In a 3-1 vote last week to approve a satisfactory level of performance and compensation for Vickie Gainer s first evaluation as city manager, commissioners responded to what they called a personal attack that was reflected in Commissioner Judy Tinder s poor evaluation of Gainer.
Commissioner Pat Perno said the evaluation stuck out like a sore thumb, as the evaluation appeared to be stuck on particular past incidents, but not judging her overall on her performance.
It smacks as a personal conflict or attack, not one of work evaluation, said Commissioner and Mayor Pro-tem Dan Russell. That being said, some of the comments that were made in it I ve found to be unfounded and untrue. ....

Sentencing in Bay County city Lynn Haven corruption case postponed


The group was indicted in November 2019 following an investigation conducted by a public corruption unit of the U.S. Attorney s Office for the Northern District of Florida. They were charged with conspiring to steal more than $5 million from the city and FEMA following Hurricane Michael.  
The city administrators worked with the businesses in a scheme to falsify invoices and bill the city for debris removal work that wasn t done, according to the indictment. Federal prosecutors also accused the group of turning in or signing off on claims for work done by employees who were not present on days invoices were created. ....
