Frustrated Rescue Volunteers Blame Henan Local Authorities for Inaction, Corruption
As people throughout in China’s Henan provinces begin to clean up after the disastrous floods, civilian rescue teams are being turned away from offering help. Coordinators and members of the teams say that Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials are impeding rescue efforts and endangering civilian lives.
The CCP municipal Secretary of Weihui City, Nie Changming, said in a July 26 broadcast on provincial television that efforts for clearing the flooded city were underway. He said the floodwater level “would go down significantly in the afternoon.”
The City Flood and Drought Control Command released a comment on the same day saying that donations have also been “streaming” in to Weihui. ....

Kufstein, Innsbruck, Hallein – Nach der Hochwasser-Katastrophe in Deutschland sorgen die intensiven und lang anhaltenden Regenfälle nun auch in Österreich für Probleme. Am Samstagabend spitzte sich die Lage unter anderem in Kufstein und in Hallein in Salzburg zu.
Die Wasserstände in Tirol überschritten an drei Messstellen ein 30-jährliches Hochwasser. Betroffen war gegen Mitternacht die Brixentaler Ache bei Bruckhäusl und die Kelchsauer Ache bei Hörbrunn (beide Bezirk Kufstein) sowie der Gschlösslbach in Innergschlöss in Osttirol.
Zivilschutzalarm in Kufstein, Felbertauernstraße gesperrt
Am späten Samstagabend wurde in Kufstein Zivilschutzalarm ausgelöst
: Bitte bleibt alle zu Hause! Versucht nicht eure Autos zu retten! Wenn Personen in Gefahr sind: bitte unter 122 anrufen !! Die Feuerwehr hat momentan keine Zeit überflutete Keller/ Tiefgaragen abzupumpen! , appellierte die Stadt in einem Facebook-Posting. ....
