Letter: Farley Santos and Joseph W Britton announce candidacy for City Council in Danbury s 4th Ward

Written by HH Farley Santos, City Councilman – 4th Ward and Joseph W. Britton, Danbury Board of Ed member, have announced their candidacy for City Council in Danbury’s 4th Ward. We are running as a team to be your representatives, your voices, your advocates and your Councilmen at City Hall. Please read their letter to the residents of Danbury below.  As long-time active 4th Ward residents, we are teaming up this year to continue the strong legacy of responsive representation and leadership in the 4th Ward for all its residents. We have a record of achieving positive results for our neighborhoods and constituents during our respective tenures on the Danbury City Council and Board of Education.

Getting to Know Danbury s New Mayor Joe Cavo

Pictured above is Joe Cavo (left) and Mark Boughton (right). Cavo was sworn in yesterday as the new Mayor of Danbury, CT. He replaces Boughton in City Hall after 10 terms and nearly twenty years in office. Boughton was recently appointed to Tax Commissioner for the State of CT by Governor Ned Lamont. The Danbury City charter dictates that in a case like this, the President of the City Council should finish out the term. The announcement that Boughton would leave office in Danbury came Thursday evening of last week and in less than a week, a new Mayor is in office. While Cavo has been a well respected member of City Council in Danbury for many years, he s not what you would call a household name  until now.
