Prince George Free Press » Assembly member encouraging participation

Even if you don’t spend your Sundays watching the political talks shows, you have something to offer a public hearing next week on the province’s electoral system, says a Prince George member of the group examining it. “People should come out and take part, and be informed,” said Mary Jarbek, one of 160 members of the Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform charged with recommending any changes to the way British Columbians elect their government. Jarbek will be one of the members hosting a public hearing May 10, one of 49 across the province in the next two months to gather input from citizens.
