"We will stop film piracy through this Bill. This has been a longstanding demand of the film industry," Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said replying to the debate in the Lok Sabha.
New Delhi, July 31 (IANS) The Lok Sabha on Monday passed the Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which aims to curb film piracy and give more powers to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to issue separate certificates for a film’s exhibition on television or any other media.
Lok Sabha passed the Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill, 2023, today, after it was approved by Rajya Sabha on July 27. The Bill amends the Cinematograph Act, 1952 which constitutes the Board of Film.
