The Queen of Pop’s father has put his Michigan winery up for sale. Madonna, born Madonna Louise Ciccone in Bay City to her father Silvio “Tony” and mother Madonna (who died when the pop star was only five), has a history in the Detroit area, but her father went north as the singer’s career was going global. According to Madonna: An Intimate Biography, Madonna and her father had a strained relationship after he remarried his second wife, Joan. Joan and Tony opened the 78 acres that make up Ciccone Vineyard & Winery in Northern Michigan’s Leelanau Peninsula in the late 1980s. Madonna’s sister Paula was the winemaker for the winery.
