Halttunen follows scientist Hannele Korhonen from Finland to the United Arab Emirates after the project she fronts receives a $1.5 million research grant to participate in the Arab state s ambitious attempt to stimulate rainfall. It s a hot, arid country, so it s no surprise that the Arab states would do anything to produce more rain and water. She sticks out also because of her wry sense of humour, with a fellow Finn made uncomfortable when she jokes about ugly ties. The men around her are pretty geeky. Much of her life is taken up by meetings and networking events where everyone is more comfortable chatting about unfathomable science than doing small talk. Korhonen is also most comfortable when conducting science experiments. Before she goes to the U.A.E., she has to stop to think over what she s heard about human rights and the treatment of migrant workers. ....

The opportunity to get proper funding and do good sounds amazing. But gradually, Hannele learns that the financiers have their own agenda. Her enthusiasm morphs into an ethical dilemma and inner conflict. If she manages to make it rain, is she creating a way to rule the clouds? What is the ultimate price of ambition? ....
(The article continues below - Commercial information) The story of Kirsikka Saari and Jenni Toivoniemi, follows Sihja ( Elina Patrakka), a young, charming and slightly outrageous fairy, who leaves her forest home. In the city, she meets a sensitive new 11-year-old friend, Alfred ( Justus Hentula). Sihja loves the newfound organised urban shapes and the orderly habits that humans have. The pair bond quickly and have a lot of fun, until one day dead birds start to appear on the city streets. The smelly fertiliser factory could be the culprit, but when Sihja reveals her unbridled fairy powers, people begin to be wary of her. Alfred and Sihja must find out what is threatening Mother Nature. Thanks to a clever and brave investigation, they manage to prevent an environmental disaster. And thanks to Alfred, Sihja learns how to use her superpower and to apologise, while Alfred finds the confidence to stand up for himself. Other main cast members include ....
