The bells fell silent 25 years ago, after being dedicated back in 1948 to honour veterans who served and lost their lives in the two world wars. Now the St Alban’s Church Carillon Bells Committee is looking to bring them back. The group has launched their Bells of Hope Campaign, which looks to raise $50,000 for new, state of the art carillon bells capable of playing over six thousand melodies. The new bells would be in recognition of the sacrifices made and people lost in the fight against COVID-19. ....

The bells at St. Alban’s Church rang out in celebratory and solemn times, but due to failing technology, the bells went quiet 25 years ago. The committee is hoping to raise $50,000 to purchase and install a state-of-the-art digital carillon bells system capable of playing over 6,000 sacred, secular and original compositions. They have already raised $11,650 through generous donations and ask the public to consider a donation to have the carillon bells ring at St. Alban’s again in the future. ....
