JOLIET, IL In less than two weeks, a high-profile Joliet murder trial will get underway, the first at the new Will County Courthouse.
Patrick Gleason, who filed a federal lawsuit last May, falsely claiming the Joliet Police Department killed him, and that Joliet police have framed him for the slaying of Izzy s bartender
Danny Rios, 52, will stand trial May 3.
The 58-year-old Gleason is being represented by prominent Joliet criminal defense lawyers Chuck Bretz and Neil Patel. However, Gleason has had a rocky relationship with his criminal defense lawyers. Gleason wanted to fire Bretz as his counsel more than a year ago, a motion that was rejected by Will County Circuit Judge Daniel Rippy. ....

JOLIET, IL A 25-year-old woman who has spent the past 23 months in the Will County Jail facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the Denny s restaurant parking lot slaying on Plainfield Road should have her bail reduced, according to her lawyer, Chuck Bretz of Bretz, Flynn & Associates.
Bobbie Jean Ollom is one of three people charged by Joliet police with the April 30, 2019, shooting death of 36-year-old Crest Hill resident Gregory G. Brown. She is a former Joliet resident who had been living in Seneca at the time of the Joliet homicide. ....

Joliet West High School math teacher Ashlee Catalani wound up inside Will County s Jail. She was charged with a total of five crimes in connection with the violent beating of her ex-boyfriend, who also lives in Joliet.
Catalani s co-defendant,
Ponciano Vargas, a 42-year-old Crest Hill man who lives on Ingalls Avenue, administered the beating, according to court records.
