Phillip “Sonny” Roach, 78, died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born November 22, 1942 in East Alton, he was the son of Melvin W. and Gladys Maxine (Gentry) Roach. Sonny was truly a Masterpiece Created by God. He had a contagious smile that would melt your heart. A Soul of Kindness and Love. He enjoyed everything in life. He loved to listen to Willy’s Roadhouse on his radio. He worked on putting puzzles together and go fishing when someone would as him to go along. Sonny always enjoyed going to the Turkey Banquet with a special friend. He would ride along in the truck with is brother-in-law to go coyote hunting. He has a twin sister “Sis” that he loved to sneak up on and scare. His sister Barb who would take him to the VFW to dance and enjoy the music and his “guardian angel” Patti whom he lived with and was his awesome care giver.
