Vans debuts shoes, T-shirts to benefit Detroit's American Coney Island

The Old Skool Customs FTB American Coney skateboard shoes are $95 a pair and the T-shirts, branded with Vans, are $30. The shoes are lace-up and decked out in the restaurant s colors of red, white and blue and have a coney logo on them. T-shirts have the American Coney Island famed hot dog logo on the back.
In its message from the owners on the Vans website, the sister and brother team of Grace Keros and Christos Sotiropoulos said they are the oldest family-owned restaurant in Detroit, celebrating 104 years in business.
The inspiration for the design of the shoes and shirts, the owners said, came from the restaurant s theme and its founder, Constantinos (Gust) Keros. ....
