Local diningscape has a few things to toast amid sustained downturn of 2020

For perhaps the first time since March, this week's dining news is positive!
First, Aunt PittyPat's Catering stalwarts Maggie Howell and chef Christine Dowd have purchased Mediterranean Deli and Imports from longtime owners Atif and Afaf Asal, who are retiring after close to 40 years in business. First, congrats to the Asal family on the retirement. Second, looking forward to what Howell, Dowd and Catherine Cunningham have in store.
Next, Magnolia Bistro will be reopening downtown. Look for extended hours, a revamped menu and cocktails to go with that Cajun and Creole cuisine come early January.
A quick note I've been hanging onto for a while.
