RFG Holdings’ pies and fruit juice sales show stunted growth as a result of Covid-19 restrictions
RFG Holdings’ sales took a knock as a result of the government’s initial Covid-19 ban on selling hot foods in supermarkets as well as the travel ban affecting pie sales. State backtracks on arson charges against Mother City b...


The State is now pressing charges of contravening the National Environmental Management Act against Frederick Mhangazo in connection with a fire on Devil’s Peak, Cape Town. Until the morning of Wednesday, 28 April, it was pressing charges of arson against him. It is not yet clear which section of the act he is said to have violated.
Mhangazo was released on R500 bail in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. The matter will proceed in court on 18 June. It was postponed to allow for further investigations.
In addition, the matter was moved from the regional court to the district court. ....

Christi Nortier of the Daily Maverick has investigated a barrage of complaints about poor quality education and mismanagement.
Two of South Africa s foremost regulatory authorities on education are considering the possibility of withdrawing the accreditation on some of the programmes offered by Damelin and Damelin Correspondence College, both of which are owned by Educor Holdings explains Refilwe Moloto on CapeTalk breakfast.
This follows a series of complaints from students over the years.
Since as far back as 2015 and as recently as last week, students have been complaining endlessly that they are struggling to get the most basic resources from Damelin College. ....
