A Tuesday afternoon fire damaged a home on Chrisler Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the home near the corner with Maplewood mid-afternoon.
The wooden sign on Chrisler Avenue in Schenectady has been in place for roughly two decades. White letters painted on a crimson background declare, “Welcome to Mont Pleasant. Est. 1831.”
But earlier this month, city employees took down the sign, instigating an unwelcome fight that sends the exact wrong message about the state of city operations.
