STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A long-standing liquor store in Dongan Hills undergoes a transformation. Owners of The G.O.A.T. just down the road have taken over the spot at 1662 Richmond Road with their new concept, the Dongan Hills Bottle Shoppe.
Chris Shaleesh and Glenn Jakers have taken on the retail venture together. Their plan is to offer in-store tastings, competitive pricing and home delivery service throughout Staten Island. The partners also will offer a contractual yearly cellar service that manages and stocks wine collections.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Joe D’Angelo of Unique Lounge says he’s ecstatic that the Governor’s Office nixed the 11 p.m. COVID-19 curfew for his industry. After 13 months, the billiard hall owner welcomed back customers to the traditional 4 a.m. closing time it maintained prior to the pandemic.
