Thirty years ago, Don Calhoun got picked to try a three-quarter-court shot during a Bulls game. He made it, sending Michael Jordan and the Bulls into an all-out frenzy because he had won $1 million. Or so everybody thought.
ALBION â Noble County 4-H honored its Class of 2021 Monday night at the Noble County Office Complex-South.
Kathleen Peters was the big winner, being named one of two Tops in 4-H recipients as well as being one of two Farm Bureau award winners.
The other Tops in 4-H winner was Justin Krider. Zoe Pfenning and Karly Kirkpatrick were members of the honor group.
The other Farm Bureau winner was Mariah Maley.
Those 4-H members honored Monday were:
Allie Basinger, Green Township Aggies, 10-year member. Her parents are Gary and Leslie Basinger. Her projects were beef, rabbits and dairy beef. Her favorite 4-H membery was winning reserve grand champion dairy steer in 2019. She plans to attend the University of Saint Francis to obtain a degree as a radiology technician and to compete on its cross country and track teams.
A farmer’s application to evict the adult children of farmworkers employed on his farm Hammansdans outside Wellington in the Western Cape was dismissed by Judge Zeenat Carelse in the Land Claims Court on 13 April 2021.
Ashraf Mahomed, who represented the workers, said the judgment was a landmark ruling which in essence protected the rights of children and the right to family life.

The application was brought before the court by First Realty (Krugersdorp) (Pty) Ltd. The farm and company have been owned by farmer Chris Hamman since 2011. The eviction sought was in terms of the Extension of Security of Tenure Act, 62 of 1997.
